Refuge In Sound – Reviews
The new CD “Refuge In Sound” was released March 7th, 2016. So far it it has received great praise from reviewers. Travis Rogers – JazzTimes says: “Refuge in Sound proves more than Christian Winther’s virtuosity and talent in composing, even though both are eminently true. It is a revelation of the heart and mind of the artist”. All About Jazz gave it 4 1/2 stars and calls it “A jewel of an album that seems to sparkle all over, Winther and crew present a glowing landscape of contemporary jazz deserving of attention”. Jazz Weekly states that “It’s comforting to hear a tenor player emphasize sound without sacrificing chops”. Offbeat “As a musician and composer, he wears his modern jazz with style and grace”.
